Edinburgh is a city I had never visited until this year, and I have now been there three times - needless to say I love it.
From the warm inviting nature of the locals to the incredible food (and whisky) and the beautiful architecture and surrounding landscapes, this city has everything a country girl at heart like myself could need.
Holyrood Palace - the Queen's residence
And opposite it...the Scottish Parliament Building
Arthur's Seat - we didn't have time (or the inclination!) to climb it this time round but it's certainly on the list!
Check out the price!!!
Edinburgh is littered with tiny alleys called closes which lead down from the main high street (Royal Mile) to the 'New Town' or what used to be a loch. A must-visit is the 'Real Mary King's Close' which is now underground after it was sealed over during the Plague.
Glad to see our brand out on the Mile!
Another must-visit is the Scotch Whisky Experience where the Claive Vidiz Scotch Collection is on display in one of the most beautiful rooms I have ever seen. Take the tour to get a real lesson in what whisky is all about.
We ended our visit with a trip to see the famous Pandas at the zoo - on loan from China as part of a 10 year breeding program!
