Now I'm just going to put it out there...I love a good pub quiz.
Perhaps it's the competitive streak in me, or maybe just my inner nerd, but I just love bringing together a group of friends to battle it out in a trivia war!
We've tried a couple of pub quizzes over the last few months, and they've varied in difficulty. I love a good pub quiz, but not one which leaves me crying into my wine despairing at just how little I know about 14th century sporting achievements - this was different.
We hot-footed it over to Fulham after work on Tuesday, a dream-team of six, for some quizzing and a spot of Michelin-starred grub at The Harwood Arms.
We started with a delicious selection of warm breads, the resounding favourite being a soda bread, smothered in butter with a sprinkle of salt! Incredible. The pub quiz menu is smaller than the usual menu, and we just wanted to eat everything so we chose a selection of their 'bar snacks' - tapas sized goodies.
The all-round favourite from this menu was this beautiful Venison Scotch Egg. Perfectly cooked, gooey in the middle with a perfect flavour - I could have eaten this every day!
We were also presented with this HUGE bowl of garlic roast potatoes (not quite the tapas size I was expecting!) which were so more-ish we only left one lonesome spud in the bowl at the end!
After some seriously good grub (most of which disappeared too quickly to get snapped by the camera!) we took to the quiz scoring a respectable 33/45 middle of the board! A perfect way to end a casual Tuesday evening!
If you fancy quizzing at The Harwood Arms then get planning, we booked for April back in January as it only happens on the first Tuesday of every month and is incredibly popular! But don't let that put you off - get your team and your all-important team name together and get down there!
Enjoy!
