I love a good sausage roll, and nothing can beat a homemade one (none of that watery pink meat you get in shop-bought ones). This is possibly THE SIMPLEST sausage roll recipe on the planet.
You will need:
Ready rolled puff pastry
Good quality sausages
Parmasan
Salt & Pepper
One beaten egg
First lay out your pastry square and cut it in half length-ways to make two rectangles.
Brush on some beaten egg, then lay out your sausages like in the picture, so half of the rectangle is covered. Season with salt and pepper and lashings of parmasan. If you want, this is where you can be adventurous and put in paprika, or mixed herbs, or chilli flakes - whatever floats your boat!
Do this for both rectangles, then fold the rectangle over again lengthways so it covers you sausages. Using a fork pinch all the edges together, then brush with the egg again.
Chop each of your long sausage rolls into smaller bite-sized chunks, or keep them MASSIVE if you like!
Oil up a baking tray and place your rolls on it.
Now cook in the oven for about 25 minutes on 180 degrees, or until golden brown.
Deeeeeelish. And healthy! ish...
