The next morning none of us needed any breakfast, but we'd ordered fresh bread rolls, croissants and Danish pastries to be delivered to the lodge, so after a little nibble we all needed to work off last night's excesses.
Today it was sunny!
The final course to explore was the Centenary course; home to the Ryder Cup in 2014.
The place it just stunning, and with the light reflecting off the snow we walked in silent awe, gazing at the 360 degree views.
Soon enough our thoughts headed back to food; it must have been something to do with the cold Highland air! Delighted by our experience last night we hot-footed it back to the Strathearn to check out their Sunday roast.
Do you think we were disappointed?
Looking out over sunny views of the glen, we filled our last hours in Scotland mulling over roast beef with all the trimmings. My highlight: horseradish cream poured into the yorkshire pudding by the waiter, so when you crunch into it, it oozes out all over everything.
Dessert was creme brûlée (note: no container), tarte tartin and sticky toffee pudding.
It was a fleeting visit, and yes we mostly did just walk around in between meals...but my god what meals they were!
