This week was my birthday, and that always calls for fancy desserts. Like this one from Aqua Kyoto in Soho.

Artusi, Peckham
I can't believe it's been 2 months since I posted! The time has gone so quickly; I've been busy moving house and starting a new job and not eating out as much as I would like!
BUT - now I'm settled into life South of the River I have realised it has opened up a whole new world of potential eateries to try.
My first foray was into Peckham with a long-standing advocate of South London living who showed me how to lunch the Artusi way.

Smokehouse
There's a perfectly unassuming place tucked away in Canonbury in North London which is warm and cosy and candlelit and serves meat to die for.
It's name: Smokehouse

Breakfast in the 'Dam
For Valentine's Day this year it was time for a trip to Amsterdam. It was my first time but so many people gave me so many recommendations I felt like a local before we even arrived!

Grain Store, Kings Cross
I've wanted to go to the Grain Store at Kings Cross for ages! The food always looks incredible and the setting is cosy even though it's quite big and industrial.

3 days in Johannesburg
Before October, South Africa has never been top of my 'to visit' list. For no apparent reason, other than there always seem to be so many other places I want to visit first. However, when Ian's best friend moved there for work for 6 months, we couldn't resist a trip out to stay.
