Flesh and Buns

This weekend was his birthday so we got a bunch of friends together and booked into 'Sunday Brunch' at Flesh and Buns.

There are two all-you-can-eat menus; starting at £34 per person, which includes a cocktail on arrival, unlimited wine or prosecco for 2 hours, endless starters and a choice of their signature 'flesh and buns'.

We started by ordering 2 of all the starters, which included sushi, sashimi, ceviche, sweet and spicy chicken wings and salt and pepper fried squid.

The chicken wings in particular were lip-smackingly good and we were all left licking our fingers!

Our waiter was great and just kept replenishing the dishes as soon as we had devoured them (which was pretty quickly!). Meanwhile the table descended into a rabble of chatter, chinking of glasses and plates being passed.

The stars of the main course were the duck and the pig - huge platters were brought, with sauces, pickles, salad and of course, the soft, fluffy steamed buns.

By the time dessert came round we were all stuffed, but your stomach always has room for something sweet and this peanutty chocolatey creme brulee with a sugary donut was perfect to round off the lunch!

Utterly full to the brim (and unfortunately our two hours of prosecco was over!) we stumbled our way down to embankment to Tattershall Castle to continue the celebrations in the sun, overlooking the landmarks of London!

Happy Birthday Ian!! x
