Eating and Drinking Around North London

The last couple of weekends have mostly involved food. A LOT of food. Which is pretty much the best way to spend a weekend if you ask me.

Last weekend my girlfriends moved in together in Islington, so we spent the whole weekend exploring Upper Street. It started with a lot of window shopping in all the beautiful boutiques, imagining all the things we would buy if we had money, then when that got too tiring we took a break at Gallipoli. We were tempted by the window...who wouldn't be?

After chocolate brownie and ice cream we carried on out to mentally spend the next 6 months of our wages...

Saturday night was also spent on Upper Street, drinking cocktails in various different bars. Funnily enough there is no photographic evidence of this. Let's just say the next day we all needed some good comfort food. This came in the shape of roast and burgers at Alwyne Castle.

My pork and chorizo burger with caramelised onions and cheese seriously hit the spot...

This weekend we decided to check out the Street Feast food traders at Camden Arts Centre. Unfortunately the rain kept the crowds away, but once the sun did come out we got outside to get our fill of perfect street gastronomy.

We were seriously tempted by everything on offer, but eventually Alice plumped for a chocolate snickers tart, in all its glorious chocolatey goodness.

I was seriously impressed she managed to eat it without getting a single speck of chocolate on her!

Ian and I just couldn't tear ourselves away from this incredible lamb wrap, barbequed in indian-style spices and served with caramelised cabbage, a sour cream and homemade spicy sauce.

I seriously recommend checking out the Street Feast traders when they start up a regular Friday market again in April in Hackney. Check out the details here and treat yourself to some seriously good food!

Enjoy!
