London 2012

London 2012 was undoubtedly the best two weeks of sport this country has ever seen and I considered myself incredibly lucky to witness it - not only every day on TV (and online whilst at work - shhh) but I also got to go to the Beach Volleyball at Horse Guards Parade, and the Coca-Cola Torch Relay celebrations in Hyde Park.

I was so impressed by how well both operations worked - from an event management point of view everything was pretty much spot on: from the happy, friendly, knowledgeable and in some cases downright charismatic volunteers, to the speedy queuing systems, even getting through security was a breeze!

To top it off - the view of London from our stands on Horse Guards Parade, particularly as the sun set - was breathtaking.

At the Coca-Cola Torch Relay celebrations the atmosphere was electric - and so much fun! The Wanted, Katy B, Mark Ronson, Rizzle Kicks and Dizzee Rascal were all great, and what's more - the sun shone all day!!!

One thing that amazed me most about the London 2012 Olympics was the feeling of positivity and pride surrounding the whole event. Event when Team GB weren't winning medals, Britons were proud of what our athletes, and our country had achieved in just getting there, and making it happen! Let's hope the happy wave of pride long outlasts the end of the Paralympics, and we don't have the classic post-holiday/event blues which so often arrive after such a fantastic event.
